01 // WALL PIECE
A commissioned artwork designed for a specific wall or architectural surface. Scale, materials, color, and composition are developed around the space.
01: Mural
A large-scale work painted directly onto the wall.
02: Large-scale Painting
A substantial painting made in the studio on canvas or panel, then installed on-site.
03: Relief
A dimensional wall work that projects from the surface, somewhere between painting and sculpture.
02 // SCULPTURE
A commissioned three-dimensional artwork developed specifically for your space. We shape the concept, materials, scale, and form around the setting and the role you want the work to play within it, from a smaller interior piece to something more substantial.
01: Freestanding Sculpture
A self-contained work made in the studio, then delivered and positioned in the space. It can be relocated later.
02: Installed Sculpture
A work designed for a particular location and permanently or semi-permanently fixed to the architecture, floor, or landscape.
03: Suspended Sculpture
A work hung from the ceiling or overhead structure, designed to occupy vertical space without taking up floor area.
03 // SITE-SPECIFIC INSTALLATION
An installation that uses the architecture and movement through the space as part of the work.
00: Site-specific Installation
Unlike a wall piece or standalone sculpture, a site-specific installation can extend across multiple surfaces, levels, or pathways. We develop the work around how people move through the space, using scale, placement, and materials to make the surrounding architecture part of the piece.

Each commission begins with an original artistic concept developed around your space and brief, rather than choosing an existing work from a catalog.
NO ART EXPERTISE NEEDED
You don’t need to arrive knowing the medium, format, or exactly what you want. Start with the space, budget, and what you want the artwork to do, and we’ll guide the rest.
CLEAR PROCESS
We move through concept, proposal, fabrication, and installation in defined stages, with opportunities to review and approve the direction before production begins.
INSTALLATION
We manage the making of the work and coordinate installation, including the practical details needed to get it safely into the space.
HOW A COMMISSION WORKS
01 // SPACE + BRIEF
Send us photos, dimensions, your budget, and anything you already know about the space. You don’t need to arrive with an artwork in mind.
02 // CONCEPT
We develop a direction for the work, including its scale, materials, placement, and visual approach, and review it with you before production begins.
03 // FABRICATION
Once the concept is approved, we make the work. Depending on the format, fabrication happens in the studio, on-site, or through a combination of both.
04 // INSTALLATION
We coordinate delivery and installation so the finished work is properly placed and ready for the space.
Most commissions take approximately 6–12 weeks from approved concept to installation. Larger or more complex projects may require additional time.
WHERE WHITEWATERRAFTING CAME FROM
Whitewaterrafting was founded by Eugenia Moreeva, a Los Angeles–based artist, educator, and CalArts graduate. Before moving to Los Angeles, she taught literature and organized experimental art gatherings in Moscow that brought together visual art, poetry, sound, food, and designed environments.
Her own artwork explores how people exist within larger structures, systems, and situations. That interest carries into Whitewaterrafting’s commissions: each project begins with the conditions already there — the architecture, scale, movement, function, and character of a space — and develops an artwork in response.
The name Whitewaterrafting comes from the combination of structure and uncertainty involved in making something that doesn’t exist yet. There is a clear process and direction, but the work develops through material decisions, testing, and making along the way.
Today, Whitewaterrafting develops wall pieces, sculptures, and installations for offices, hospitality spaces, private clients, and other shared environments, working from initial concept through fabrication and installation.
